This week we have been the hi-light of our region's NHS 70th birthday celebrations. One of our couples who recently underwent treatment under the NHS with our team were followed through their pregnancy and birth on ITV Calendar news. Their story was revealed on the 4th July - the NHS's 70th birthday. We would like to thank Maria and James for agreeing to share their story which strengthens the importance of making fertility treatment available under the NHS. Yorkshire really was moved by your happy ending.
Today we continued our tradition of holding a special party for all of our families who have had babies through treatment at Yorkshire Fertility. This day is to celebrate our success and to open our doors to those families who want to come back and share their joy with us. This is such a special day where parents can chat and children can play and enjoy a reunion with our team members. Today we had the pleasure of special visitors including Vicky Pickles from The Trust's Communications Department, and a reporter from BBC Look North. The positive and memorable stories in the room are a real reward for NHS staff who work timelessly to support and encourage their patients. Pictured left it Martin DeBono co-ordinating the raffle which finished the day.
Pictured here is Vicky and Liam with baby George from Bradford.
Vicky said 'without NHS treatment some couples just wouldn't have a chance.' Now that we cover a wider geographical area we are able to help more patients become parents.
The party is an annual event where we have bouncy castles, face painting, balloon making and lots of prizes and goodies for the children. If you would like to attend the next party please let us know and we will happily add you to our mailing list.
